Autonomy & Liberty

As I sit here at my computer I’m about to head out the door to the airport to fly back to work. I work in the Oil Patch in Northern Alberta. It’s at the time of year that I almost dread the thought of what’s comingĀ  more than when it actually is… COLD!

I work 84 hours in a week and then I get a week off. Clearly, when I go to work there’s not much time left to do anything else! I get paid well for this and yet I want more.

Autonomy and Liberty means to me the ability to decide what to do and when I want to do it and with whom. Right now, I’m feeling a lack of this. Oh, for some people they would be ecstatic to be paid for what I do and I’m very grateful that I have this job.

But… I want more.
